Reward Level Penalty & Ranking Demotion Policy

Modified on Tue, 5 May at 10:22 AM

Overview

This policy defines how musicians may be penalized based on consistent negative behavior across events.

  • Temporary ranking demotion (Top → Middle → Lower).
  • Level demotion applies only to Level 1, Level 2, and Top Rated musicians.
  • Ranking effects are applied per gig profile, not globally.
  • New Musician is not eligible for demotion. Level 1 musicians cannot drop below Level 1.

Trigger Criteria

Triggers are evaluated consecutively (not in total). If any one of the following thresholds is met for a specific profile, the penalty process is activated.

  • Review Score: 3 events in a row with a review of 3 stars or lower.
  • Cancellations: 3 consecutive cancellations without client acceptance.
  • Unverified Events: 3 consecutive events marked as Unverified by the musician, or marked as Unverified — Expired.

Level 1 Musician

Trigger Thresholds

  • 3 consecutive reviews of 3 stars or below.
  • 3 consecutive cancellations.
  • 3 consecutive unverified events (Unverified — Expired or Unverified Musician).

Penalty Result

  • Ranking Demotion: Drops to Lower Ranking for this gig profile.
  • Level Demotion: None — cannot drop below Level 1.
  • Penalty Duration: 1 month.
ℹ Note Level 1 musicians are protected from level demotion. Only their search ranking is temporarily affected.

Level 2 Musician

Trigger Thresholds

  • 3 consecutive reviews of 3 stars or below.
  • 3 consecutive cancellations.
  • 3 consecutive unverified events (Unverified — Expired or Unverified Musician).

Penalty Result

  • Ranking Demotion: Middle → Lower Ranking for this gig profile.
  • Level Demotion: Drops to Level 1.
  • Penalty Duration: 2 months.

Top Rated Musician

Trigger Thresholds

  • 3 consecutive reviews of 3 stars or below.
  • 3 consecutive cancellations.
  • 3 consecutive unverified events (Unverified — Expired or Unverified Musician).

Penalty Result

  • Ranking Demotion: Top → Middle Ranking for this gig profile.
  • Level Demotion: Drops to Level 2.
  • Penalty Duration: 3 months.

Example Penalty Cycle Timeline

Week 1

  • Musician receives 3 consecutive 3-star reviews → Trigger activated.
  • Penalty cycle starts: level demotion applied.
  • Duration: 1 month.

Week 3

  • Musician cancels 3 consecutive events during the active penalty period → New trigger during active penalty.
  • Drops one additional level for this gig profile.
  • Penalty duration adds the standard timeframe based on the demotion policy for the current level.

Result

  • Penalty cycle extends — duration reset to a full additional timeframe from the end of the previous demotion penalty, based on the current level per the demotion policy. Each level carries a different penalty duration (Level 1: 1 month, Level 2: 2 months, Top Rated: 3 months).
  • Add-on: Flagged for moderation if repeat behavior continues.
⚠ Warning Re-triggering a penalty during an active penalty cycle results in a compounded demotion and an extended penalty duration. Consistent negative behavior will escalate to manual moderation review.

Penalties are applied automatically based on consecutive performance data per gig profile. Maintaining consistent quality ensures your level and ranking are protected.
